Here we go!

Charlie has taken his first independent steps! He's done it a few times and is really steady on his feet, but he doesn't show any interest in doing it regularly and he absolutely refuses to practice (he just sits down and refuses to put weight on his legs if we try to get him to walk -- I really thought Ellie was going to be the willful one, but I think Charlie might give her a run for her money!). So we'll see how long it takes for him to actually start walking, but in the meantime, it's fun to catch him taking a few steps here and there!

When will I learn?

I learned an important lesson today. When your mostly-potty-trained, willful daughter asks you to put a diaper on her so she can go "poo," it is not a good time to take a stand and insist that she's a big girl and should go in the potty. Silly me, I thought she would eventually break down and go in the potty. Not so much.

Well, she's honest

Today, the kids were in the playroom and Charlie started crying. I walked in and asked what happened (already having a pretty good idea based on the red mark on Charlie's forehead) and Ellie said "I hit him in the head with the vacuum. He needs ice."

Cheeky boy

I made the mistake of leaving the pantry doors open while I finished up some dinner prep.  I knew Charlie had discovered the security breach, but figured he would go for the spices like his sister always does.  I quickly finished up, washed my hands and found this…

It figures that he would go straight for the soy sauce since I spend a lot of time trying to reduce the sodium in his diet.  Cheeky boy.  He smells like a Chinese restaurant now.
