Let the sibling rivalry begin! Ellie has tolerated Charlie and been amazing at sharing our attention with him, but that all changed yesterday when she was expected to share her highchair AND food (technically, it wasn't her food, but she did not seem concerned with technicalities). Charlie had his first solid food yesterday and the excitement of the event was totally lost on Ellie! "Mine chair, mine chair, mine chair" was pretty much the only thing I could make out between the wails, tearing of clothes, and gnashing of teeth, but we definitely got the point. She could not be consoled with reminders that she had just finished eating, that Charlie was eating yucky baby oatmeal, not something delicious, or that she would get two more meals later that day while Charlie would have to wait until tomorrow to eat again. I turned up both of their monitors last night because I was a bit worried that Ellie might try to escape her crib and eliminate the competition for her highchair and her food!

Uhoh, sounds like trouble! :) Hopefully that jealousy will fail as she sees all the stuff he has to eat before he gets to the good stuff. I definitely see a sibling resemblence in those high chair pictures!
They both look so cute and tiny in the high chair:) And Elle, I don't blame you for being worried. . .but I'm sure your mom and dad will have enough food for everyone!
Ellie definitely has her priorities. She is following in the grand tradition of those before her - food is certainly a territorial thing! Meanwhile, Charlie's eyes are more blue with every picture.
How funny! May be time for Ellie to get a booster seat of her own! Even at 32, I STILL get territorial with MY seat at the table and food. Love the comparison.
He is getting SO BIG!
I don't understand where Ellie got this obsession with food... Must be from her daddy's side, eh?
The comparo pics are amazing - hard to remember Ellie when she was Charlie's age so seeing them side by side is an eye-opener.
