Who’s a big girl now?!

No more baby beds for Ellie!  She slept in a big girl bed last night and did great!  We tried her in it two nights ago, after getting rid of Charlie’s crib (which had been recalled) and moving him to Ellie’s crib; the first night did not go well – she was out of the bed before we could even close the door, but with the help of a “one strike” rule (she had to sleep in the pack ‘n play if she got out of bed), she stayed in bed all night last night.  She even slept in this morning and then waited for us to get her out of bed this morning.  Amazing!  I have to say that it was a little bittersweet though – I was so proud of her for staying in bed, but it was sad to see my little tiny (31+ lbs) baby in a big girl bed.  It just seems like she’s turned into a big girl before my eyes.  Crazy.  And fun.  And exciting.  And still a little sad.

That is AWESOME!!! Way to go Ellie, and mommy and daddy! Very well done, just two nights for a transition is unheard of. Ellie, can you teach Jackson?! Please:)

Aw! What a happy AND bittersweet moment for sure. So glad she's doing so well. Of course, it has something to do with YOU as her mama, too!

Well-stated, Adrienne. And if you think this step is bittersweet, you are going to absolutely melt on her wedding day! Trust me on this one.

Hooray Ellie!!! I know, it's nuts--Cain got his big boy race car bed over the holidays too and it's just so happy and sad to think of your "baby" in a big bed!! Of course we didn't have much of a choice because since our "little" guy insisted on laying side ways, he just couldn't fit on a crib/toddler bed size mattress anymore--ha ha!! He loves it too, never missed his crib a bit--although I cried the first night he slept in his new bed (I know, I'm a goober). Anyway, all of that rambling to say. . .way to go Ellie!!!!---And I feel your happiness and pain Adrienne ;-)

So sad. I still get sad thinking about Mia growing out of her crib into a toddler bed and then finally into a big girl bed. Just don't forget she's still your little baby.
