I finally took Keanan in for a well check last week – his first since he was 2-months old – and it turns out that Keanan is breaking the Hirst growth pattern. Although, at birth, he weighed a pound more than Ellie, and a pound and a half more than Charlie, he is now the smallest of the three. At 8.5 months, he weighs 19 lbs, 5 oz, putting him in the 39th percentile. THIRTY-NINTH!!! I nearly fell out of my chair! And he’s 29.5 inches long, putting him in the 91st percentile (that’s more like it). Even his head is little by Hirst baby standards – it’s in the 52nd percentile.
At 9 months, Charlie weighed 22.5 lbs (80th percentile), was he’s 30.25 inches long (95th percentile), and his enormous melon was in the 98th percentile. Ellie weighed 21 lbs, 15 oz. (90th percentile), was 29 inches long (also 90th percentile), and her head was in 95th percentile.
My theory is that Keanan didn’t bulk up like the other two did because he started crawling so early. This little guy is never stationary and has been motoring around for almost 2 months. Now he’s pulling/pushing up and I’m going to be forced to start pushing him down just so he doesn’t walk anytime soon!
Although Keanan didn’t reach the weight limit on the infant seat, he was definitely too long, so he’s graduated to a big boy seat. SLOW DOWN, KEANAN!!!

Wow, time with little K really is moving WAY too fast! Good thing he's such a sweet and smiley little man. And 39th percentile? I'm still amazed at that one!
