Anyone know how to get red wine stains out of a toddler's clothes?

So earlier today, I was dusting (and feeling quite proud of myself for having it so "together" at this point) and I heard a thud. I walked around the corner, and found that Ellie had pulled a box of wine (classy? yes.) onto the floor in the butler pantry. I figured there was no harm in her playing with it and taking it off of her certainly wasn't a battle I was up to, so I went back to my dusting. A few minutes later, I heard "slurp, slurp" and returned to the butler pantry to find Ellie standing on top of the box, which was now in a puddle of red wine, putting her hands in the wine and then licking it off. So much for having it together, huh?! Now I need to get the red wine stains out of her shirt...strange that the "Totally Toddler" stain spray I use doesn't list red wine as one of the things it gets out.

So, does Ellie like "box wine?" And you should still be very proud that you were DUSTING with a 4 day old baby!?! I don't think I did housework until Jax was about. . .well, how old is he now?

Believe it or not, rubbing salt into the stain helps get red wine out. That and a 24 hour soak in Oxyclean. Love the new blog, btw!

Hehehe... yes, I'm sure that red wine wasn't one of the things they planned on you need the "Totally Toddler" spray for! :) You know that I second the Oxyclean recommendation, but beyond that I'm not sure. And way to go dusting already! Alex is 3 and I STILL don't dust often enough! :)

Okay, I'm not exactly a homemaker diva, but last time I checked there was a perfect "Red Wine" product put out by Rit...

And I think Sue is right: with enough white wine, the red wine stain is noooooo problem!!!

You're welcome. Always glad to help.
