Walnuts are distracting

They may be good for your brain, but walnuts are really distracting...especially when you have a mouthful and only a couple molars to chew with. Damian gave Ellie a bunch of walnuts at breakfast this morning (she loves them and will keep putting them in her mouth until she has little chipmunk cheeks) and she was still working on them 45 minutes later at tumbling class. In fact, she was so distracted by the nuts that she hardly participated in class! Normally, she runs around like a mad woman, jumping on the trampoline, doing somersaults, climbing over obstacles, etc. Today, she spent most of the time sitting and watching the other kids...and chewing. I tried getting her to spit them out; I even tried sweeping her mouth, but she was not giving up the walnuts! In the end, she worked on the nuts for almost two hours (gotta give her credit for being dedicated to the task). So now we know...no more walnuts before tumbling class!

I KNEW she was related to me and now we finally see evidence (other than the budda belly)... remind you of me chewing carrots? :)

It does remind me of that and, in fact, I asked her if she would just stuff the walnuts in her cheek and save them until later, like her Auntie Jamie, but she wouldn't do it!

Well, maybe she is working up to that! :)

Before we opened the comments, Meme and I said, "Huh! Who does that remind you of?"

The real test will be when Ellie chews walnuts for an hour, sleeps soundly for two hours, and then wakes up chewing. We're betting she can do it! ;-)

A girl has to have her priorities! Brains over brawn! Way to go Ellie.
