Well, it's official. We're on our own. We had Gaga here for three weeks and then Auntie Jamie and Cousin Alex here for a week. It was fantastic having them here and I don't know how we would have survived without them. Actually, I don't know how we're going to survive without them now. Besides the really (awesome!) practical things that they did for us (we've hardly done a load of laundry, prepared a meal, or washed a dish since Charlie was born), they have loved on Ellie and given her all of the attention that we've been unable to give her. When Jamie and Alex left today, Ellie cried and cried. She's already been missing Gaga and now she walks around the house saying "Alex, Alex," pointing at the chair Alex sat in, the room she slept in, the carseat she sat in, etc. I wish we lived closer to family!
Here are some pictures from the visits...

The girls loved playing with Damian -- they followed him around everywhere and on Saturday morning, he took them outside where they ran up and down the driveway, kicked their feet in the pool, and came in happy and soaking wet. Here's our sweet little toddler burritos:

Uh-oh. Laundry, cooking, and cleaning up... gee, wonder what is going to be on my to-do list next week, eh? As long as I get some time for that lovin' on the grandbabies, the rest will be just fine. Very fine, in fact. ;-)
Thanks for the new pics - we've been Jonesing for updates out here in the sticks.
We loved our time there! Alex said today that she misses Texas, and I agree! She said that Ellie misses her the most, and I thought that was probably true too.
You'll do great without us and only a few more days until Shiny Grandpa comes to the rescue!
I just can't express how happy I am to see Ellie and Alex enjoying each other like this. Knew it was coming, of course, but just so kool to see it. The two of them look like pure energy, ready to erupt.
And the soon-to-be-gang-of-four will be many times more energetic! Many of US are going to love watching many of YOU try to keep up. hahahahahahahahaha....
You are going to do just fine! Look at what you have done already - you've grown that sweet baby by over 2 pounds, you've created a perfect (other than not being in Colorado! Tell us again, why did you move so far?) home for your kids to thrive and you've developed a wonderful way to remember it all with this blog. So soon Charlie will be Ellie's shadow and you will have a regular speedway track around your house. I'm so happy to have been there and I miss my playmate. Can she come play? Can Charlie come spend some time in our arms so we can tell him how lucky he is?
What an awesome trip! I LOVE the kid pictures!!!
