After an eventful couple of days and a very eventful night (poor Ellie had her first ever dose of pain medicine after her ear ache and/or teething pain kept her up (on and off) for a couple of hours), we spent a quiet day in Pudsey. Ellie was happy to play with her new toy/gym, which is on loan from Cousin Thomas and Cousin Joseph -- she likes banging it (and anything else within arm's reach, including her own body) with Grandma Sue's wooden spoons. If we had only known, we could have saved so much money on toys!
Ellie had some more of her super-fresh food. At first, she was NOT a fan of the green beans, but she's coming around. She especially likes them if they're mixed with oatmeal (bluck!) or sweet potato. In fact, she liked the green bean and sweet potato mixture so much that she wanted to keep eating even though she was absolutely exhausted. With every bite, her eyelids grew heavier, until she was essentially eating with her eyes closed; but if I stopped spooning in the food, her eyes popped open and she started crying. Ah, our sweet, food-lovin' girl!
