I thought that once Ellie started crawling, she would spend at least several weeks (if not months) working on perfecting her skill before she moved on to something new. Boy was I wrong! It seems like she is doing something new every time I turn around. Today, she started getting up on her knees. She has amazing balance -- she can sit with her legs tucked under her (sort of sitting on her shins) for ages. And during her morning nap, she got onto her knees and started pulling on her mobile so Grandpa and I had to lower her crib mattress again. It's now on the lowest setting, which just seems wrong -- she's too little to be in a big girl crib!
Ellie also started walking...with help, of course! She needs lots of help with her balance, but she just walks and walks and walks. It's so amazing because just yesterday I tried to get her to walk and she wouldn't do it -- then today, she walked all over the place. Crazy how quickly things are changing now.
Ellie's final trick for the day was standing up on her own. She used me for a little boost (I was laying on the floor and she pushed off of my chest) and popped right up. She did it several times so I guess it wasn't a fluke.
Here are a few pics of the superstar:
She's been doing this sweet little squinty-eyed smile lately.

That seems so early for her to already be pre-walking! Way to go Ellie! She is just adorable. When is LUke gonna meet his new girlfriend?
