So, it's official. I'm 31. I can't employ any fuzzy math to say that I'm in my 20's anymore. Jamie lovingly told me that you actually start rounding up to 40 at 31. Isn't that sweet?! So in addition to feeling old, I feel exhausted. I think it might have something to do with being up all night with a sick baby though. Miss Ellie went to bed healthy and woke up at 10:00 p.m. with a ton of congestion and an unwillingness to sleep alone. So, the three of us (Damian arrived yesterday) ushered in my big day while sharing a futon. I think Ellie actually got the most sleep as she was totally unconcerned about who she punched or kicked while dozing, and Damian and I probably ended up with a total of about 3 hours of sleep. This morning, Ellie seemed to be going downhill and spent most of the morning crying, so we took her to Children's Hospital Urgent Care. The good/bad news is that she has another ear infection, so it may make the drive over the passes unpleasant for everyone, but hopefully she'll feel better quickly once the antibiotics kick in. Poor girl! You know it's bad when she watched Baby Einstein...twice!
So this is actually the second year that I've spent a good portion of my birthday at an urgent care clinic. Last year, I was there, seven months pregnant, with bronchitis. Although I really love family traditions, I'm hoping that this is a tradition that we break next year! For now, I'm going to go read up on calcium supplements and water aerobics.

Well, this year you won't miss your party at least. And I definitely want to keep Ellie for you when you get back so you can have a proper birthday date night!
Happy 31. . .and ps-tell Jamie that since she got married and had the baby first we'll round her up to 40 as well. . .due to her maturity! Ha ha
Aren't little sisters just the kindest, most thoughtful people? They always find a way to cheer you up when things are tough. To lend another perspective to help get you through life. We do hope that the antibiotics work their miracles and that you all have a good sleep and safe drive. LLL
Now, now, I'm getting a bad wrap here... I said she had to round up to *35*, not 40! Yeesh! :)
It was a rough start to a birthday, but I love that you were here for it. I've really enjoyed every minute of having you here and wish you lived closer!
